Best Camcorder for me?

i just found out a little bit ago that my wife is pregnant with our first child. And naturally we wanted to get a video camcorder to be able to track our family memories. My parents just got us a Hitachi dz-hs903a and i cant find any info about it. Does anyone know if it is a pretty good camcorder. All that i am really looking for in a camcorder is really good picture quality, night vision or a light (to record in dark), and also some think that will that will translate well to our hd tv. I dont really care about any fancy features just good quality.
